Introduction to mountain flying

Do you also want to discover the mountains?
You will find here what you need to fly in a mountain environment in complete safety. Because if the reliefs are attractive, grandiose, varied, their proximity generates phenomena which it is necessary to understand with prudence, by knowing the traps which they conceal. This site is intended for all pilots, whether they are airplane or microlight pilots. Good navigation, good flights !
NEED FOR RAISING AWARENESS
The summer season is upon us, and it’s time for long-distance travel by microlight or light aircraft. The trip you have been planning for a few weeks, may require a flight over a mountainous region, possibly involving a flight through valleys and crossing passes.
The presence of terrain brings new constraints for the unexperienced pilot and unfortunately many accidents have occurred due to the lack of knowledge and preparation of pilots for this type of flight. You cannot imporivse a flight in mountainous regions! The French Association of Mountain Pilots (AFPM) offers various awareness-raising activities for pilots who wish to fly through mountainous regions. The specific aspects of this kind of flight are discussed, so that pilots do not discover this magnificent environment alone and can enjoy it for a long time.
A la carte training is offered by various training organisations approved by the AFPM. You will find below all the details of this training.

TRAINING PROGRAM
1
THEORY – GROUND
A briefing of about an hour by a mountain instructor will teach you

the way in the valleys, the crossing of
of passes and ridges.

2
PRACTICE – IN FLIGHT
